Create a Project
To create a project, navigate to the Project tab and click “+New Project”. Enter a project name as well as any important context, like a PRD, for the project.Import a Prototype
Next, you’ll be taken to the screen to import your prototype.- Give your prototype a recognizable name that will be referred to throughout the project.
- Choose how you want to import your prototype: from an external service or by selecting an existing template saved as context in your Bifocal account.
Create a feedback session
- Navigate to the Sessions tab of your project and click “New Session”.
- Choose Live Feedback Session
- Give your session a name and choose the type: Customer or Internal.
- Next, choose which prototype you will be presenting during your feedback session. “Base” prototype is the imported prototype set as the base for the project.
Participant View
The participant view cleanly displays your prototype as a fully interactive webpage, and records the feedback directly from participants through voice recording. If you are running a live user interview, send this participant link to your user / customer, and have them present this tab on their Zoom while recording their feedback. Make sure the Participant presses “Start Recording” on the recording widge in their view to ensure feedback gets streamed live during the session.Admin View
The admin view of a session allows you to build and create new versions of the prototype in real-time during the interview. As your participants are giving feedback, Bifocal transcribes it and displays it in the admin view in real time on the Transcript tab.Generating Insights & Solutions
As raw feedback comes in, Bifocal will begin to generate both Insights and Solutions. Insights transform raw feedback into high-level strategic insights about the user feedback. It includes the exact quote from the transcript that inspired the insights. Solutions are ideas for how to iterate on the prototype based on these insights. It includes a description of the proposed iteration, including which pages might be changed or added. Bifocal will also attach design inspiration that it believes is relevant to the solution based on existing products. This design inspiration helps the coding agent build a great version of the solution by referencing a well-crafted UX from another popular product.Build new versions of the prototype
As Bifocal identifies insights and suggests solutions, you can choose which solutions you would like to turn into prototypes. Select one or more solutions on the Solutions tab in the session view and click “generate” prototype. From here Bifocal coding agents will begin creating a new version of the prototype which you can view on the Prototype tab. In addition to Bifocal-generated solutions, you can also add your own solutions directly in the Solution tab, and then choose these to have Bifocal create a new version based on it. Bifocal is still in alpha so prototype generation might be slow — bear with us as we make everything speedier!View generated prototypes
New versions of the prototype will build and display on the prototype tab. When you click on the prototype version, you’ll be able to see and interact with it inside of the Admin view. From here, you can do a number of things.- To view a consolidated log of changes made, click “View Changes” in the upper right hand corner.
- If you would like to show this new version of this prototype to a participant, click the “Set as Public” button next to the prototype name. This will switch the prototype that participants see to the new version you’ve just built.
